In the wake of the August 5th Sikh temple massacre in Wisconsin, after discovering the shooter was the frontman of a "white-power hardcore band", CNN writer Lonnie Nasitir incorrectly labelled US moshcore veterans Hatebreed as a white power band alongside several bands who had an actual afilliation with such beliefs.

In the wake of the August 5th Sikh temple massacre in Wisconsin, after discovering the shooter was the frontman of a "white-power hardcore band", CNN writer Lonnie Nasitir incorrectly labelled US hardcore veterans Hatebreed as a white power band alongside several bands who had an actual afilliation with such beliefs.

The band, in response, issued the following statement.

"Our music brings people of all races together all over the world. CNN need to get their facts straight. Writers like Lonnie Nasatir are the reason why the American media is looked at as a complete joke. CNN loses all respect, now they slander us. We demand a retraction and an apology."

In response, CNN issued a retraction, but did not apologize. I think this incient makes a profoundly disturbing statement about the news media.
