Boy bands and reality TV winners to hold control

The Christmas period tends to bring out the regular names in the ARIA Charts, and according the midweek figures this week will be no different.

The juggernaut that is One Direction's Take Me Home is showing no signs of slowing – particularly with more tour dates announced – and will likely only be challenged by Taylor Swift's Red (she's in the country and will perform at the ARIA Awards tomorrow night), Pink's The Truth About Live and Guy Sebastian's Armageddon. They've all been prominent top-five releases in recent weeks.

The bullet performs early in the week seem to be Michael Buble's Christmas and Little Mix's DNA.

On the singles front X-Factor winner Samantha Jade looks set to hold top spot with What You've Done To Me, with this week's number two – Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Wanz's Thrift Shop – and number three – Swedish House Mafia featuring John Martin's Don't You Worry Child – the biggest threat in a stable week. The Collective are tracking towards a big debut with their track Surrender, however.
