Pub punks The Chats display their Brissie pub expertise in the video for the new single 'I've Been Drunk In Every Pub In Brisbane'

More The Chats More The Chats

The Chats are back with a new single, the declarative 'I've Been Drunk In Every Pub In Brisbane' and the accompanying video shows that the title might just be telling the truth. The Sunshine Coast pub punks take part in an old-fashioned suburban pub crawl in the low-fi video, which you can watch below, getting up to all sorts of shenanigans as they consume a few too many brews.

The song itself sees The Chats dish up more of their trademark no-frills punk rock, with lyrics detailing their exploits at nine of their favourite Brisbane drinking establishments. Everywhere from The Zoo to The Caxton right through to the trusty R.S.L gets a bit of lyrical love in the track which clocks in at just over a minute-and-a-half.

'I've Been Drunk In Every Pub In Brisbane' will appear on The Chats' second full-length Get Fucked which will drop on August 19 via their own label Bargain Bin Records.

The release of the video continues a big week for The Chats, yesterday they were announced as a support act for the Guns N’ Roses stadium tour. They'll be joined by fellow Aussie punk favourites Cosmic Psychos with the Aussie punk double given the task of warming some of the nation's biggest stages for one of the world's biggest bands.

The Guns N Roses run isn't The Chats first time crossing paths with rock heavyweights with the band having supported everyone from Iggy Pop to Queens Of The Stone Age on past runs.

Last year they were handpicked by Metallica to contribute to The Metallica Blacklist. An album boasting over 50 artists from every corner of the globe and the genre-sphere taking on an official Metallica cover.  Check out their cover of 'Holier Than Thou' below.
