Naarm/Melbourne indie punk band Chasing Ghosts have unveiled their latest single for the year, with Ten Feet Tall arriving as the acclaimed group’s latest explosive piece of anthemic rock.
Released today (Wednesday, October 2nd), the new single sees Chasing Ghosts working with ARIA nominated producer Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, Redhook, Yours Truly) to craft a blistering piece of music that showcases the inimitable vocal delivery of Jimmy Kyle, and his immensely powerful lyricism that surround the importance of mental health awareness.
“Ten Feet Tall was inspired by the first conversations with my psychologist as my life was turned upside down; the fallout of a failed relationship spurred me to turn to therapy for the first time,” Kyle says of the song. “The sense of personal failure felt totally overwhelming, beating on myself harshly and unnecessarily.
“My insomnia had gotten worse, and I had finally decided therapy was a must. As a society, it is critical that we normalise mental health issues and encourage others to seek professional support when they’re struggling, and this song is my contribution to that mission.”
Chasing Ghosts’ new single arrives just under two months since the release of Amnesia Everybody, which in turn followed on from the release of their 2021 EP Homelands and last year’s Homelands Unplugged release.
