Perhaps Charli XCX is ready to be a Coachella headliner. At least, that’s the vibe that fans and casual onlookers had watching her main stage performance on Saturday (12 April).

Charli’s Coachella set was a celebration of her defiant 2024 album, Brat. Her set over the weekend (and second set next weekend) may even mark the end of Brat Summer—until she performs at Glastonbury in June, anyway.

In terms of the set, Charli’s performance was packed with Brat tracks—12 songs from the album, to be exact—as well as two songs from her album, Pop 2, and her collaboration with Icona Pop, I Love It.

Making the party even more spectacular, she was joined by some of her Brat collaborators, starting with Australian hitmaker Troye Sivan on the Talk talk remix, Lorde on the Girl, so confusing remix, and Billie Eilish for the Guess remix.

Of course, fans screamed every word to every song, as Brat has become a cultural movement as well as a great album that welcomed the party girl revival.

At the end of her set, Charli pondered what the end of Brat Summer means as words on the large screens behind her read, “Idk who I am when it’s over.” A few seconds later, the screens read, “I’m Charli.”

Charli and Billie shared the cheeky Guess music video last August. The clip notably features plenty of underwear, which was donated to I Support The Girls, a charity that collects and distributes essential items, including bras, underwear, and menstrual hygiene products for those in need.

The release of Guess featuring Billie Eilish arrived during a mammoth year for the pair, with both dropping critically acclaimed albums—Eilish with HIT ME HARD AND SOFT and Charli with Brat.

Bringing Brat Summer Down Under, Charli XCX was this year’s headliner of Laneway Festival in Australia and New Zealand.
