Members of Flight Facilities, Peking Duk and more will hit the field for a cause this Friday

The Sydney music community will be out in force this Friday for the Musica Copa charity soccer tournament, which returns to the inner-west suburb of Marrickville for its fourth event this Friday.

It may only cost a $10 donation at the door to enter, but good gravy does that entail serious value for money: First up, you will get to hear sweet DJ sounds from a ream of talented disc-spinners pulled together by FBi Click, including Body Promise, Never Slept, Honey and Bare Necessities, alongside FBi Radio's dance class of 2016 in GIRLIRL, Katia and Soft Hands, as well as sets from Lauren Hansom, Sports and FBi Click chief Sandro Dallarmi.

On top of the dance-floor vibes (not to mention $5 tinnies at the Players Lounge, thanks to Young Henry's, as well as the delectable goods from Mary's Burgers), you'll have the opportunity to witness 21 teams comprised of some of Australian music's most recognisable faces — including members of Flight Facilities, Peking Duk, Set Mo, I Know Leopard and The Delta Riggs, as well as the likes of What So Not, Nina Las Vegas, Montaigne and Paces, among several others — battling it out for glory, in which "glory" is a big fat cheque to the tune of $10,000 (at least), made out to the charity of their choice. All other proceeds from the event will be forwarded to charity.

This year's tournament will see teams sourced from companies such as Audiopaxx, BMG, Falcona, FBi Radio, Future Classic, Groovin The Moo, I OH YOU, inthemix, Lucky Ent, Ministry Of Sound x Mustard, MTV Australia, Mushroom Group, Pandora, Pedestrian, Red Bull Music Academy, Select Music, Sony Music, Sweat It Out X MAKER Agency, UNDR Ctrl, Universal Music and WME.

Two-time previous winners Sweat It Out X MAKER Agency (2013 and 2014 champs) will doubtlessly be looking to reclaim their title, especially with the winners of the last event, the projects*, seemingly not a part of this week's chance to defend their title.

Presuming they're vacating it, it's anyone's game as a large number of people who are not usually associated with being blessed with athletic talent converge for a friendly comp in the name of camaraderie and charity. A full list of eligible organisations is available on the competition's website.

It all goes down from 2pm this Friday, 2 December, at the KIKOFF Soccer Centre in Marrickville.

Musica Copa was founded in 2013, and is a partner of the annual Electronic Music Conference (EMC) event.

This year's prize has been generously donated by Red Bull, Jackery Power, DJ Warehouse and other Musica Copa official partners. See their ranks here.
