Sydney rapper signs exclusive global deal
Sydney rapper Chance Waters has signed a global publishing deal with the Universal Music Publishing Group, the artist revealed today.
Waters released his debut full length Infinity, the album landing two tracks – Young & Dumb and Maybe Tomorrow – in last year's Hottest 100.
“It's a huge opportunity and a great vehicle to foster my songwriting opportunities internationally,” he said today. “I think we're all on the same page in terms of what I want to achieve both in and outside of Australia. Publishing and songwriting is a primary focus for me, so I couldn't be happier to be teaming up with the best possible people to get the job done.”
On Twitter he added, “Today is a life changing day for me. I'm honestly so excited about this deal, song writing is my biggest focus so it's fucking amazing.”

Waters' manager Luke Girgis told theMusic.com.au, “I am thrilled that we have signed this deal with Universal. It's very exciting to be working with a team that has just as much faith in Chance's music as I do.”
UMPG Australia's Director of A&R, Heath Johns, added, “Chance is an engaging lyricist and a freakishly good hook writer. We are delighted to welcome him into the UMPG family, and we can't wait to forge a number of local and international writing opportunities for Chance as he works on the follow-up to Infinity.”
The news comes after he announced national tour dates earlier this week.
Beyond that the rapper expects to work on his second album both locally and abroad.
