Here's Your First Look At The 'Letters & Numbers' Reboot With Triple J's Michael Hing!

Oh, and did we mention it's a celebrity edition?

Fans of much-loved SBS quiz and puzzle program Letters & Numbers have been clambering for a new series since the original run ended in 2012.

Now, after the announcement in July that the series would be making its triumphant return, a trailer has been revealed for Celebrity Letters & Numbers.

Taking its cues from UK comedy juggernaut 8 Out Of Ten Cats Does Countdown (which also appears on the station's subsidiary channel SBS VICELAND), the show will see comedians and Aus TV personalities go head to head in order to see who will reign supreme as the ultimate maths and spelling brain.

Fronted by triple j host and comedian Michael Hing, the show will also see the return of original co-hosts David Astle and Lily Serna - who take the helms of the word-building and arithmetic rounds respectively.

“When SBS offered me the opportunity to work on a Letters & Numbers reboot, I was worried that appearing on television opposite Lily and David (famous smart people), I might come off looking very, very dumb," Hing said of assailing this new role. "And look, that's still not impossible, but luckily, SBS have also packed the show with celebrities and I remain hopeful I walk away okay.

"The real joy has been two-fold. Firstly, watching people who haven't had to do maths since school panic and regress as soon as the Letters & Numbers clock starts, and secondly, the moments of triumph and success on the show are so rare that when they happen it's the kind of genuine, pure joy that is quite rare in an otherwise, extremely grim world.”

Some of the familiar faces set to take part in the series include Hamish Blake, Matt Okine, Susie Youssef, and many more.

Check out the new trailer for the series below. Celebrity Letters & Numbers will air from 7.30pm, Saturday 2 October.
