It was another sort of depressing week in entertainment this week, with the news that Eagles' Glenn Frey had passed on, and The Jezebels' Heather Shannon revealing her ongoing battle with cancer. In the film industry, many spoke out about their distaste for the lack of diversity in the Academy Awards this year, with no people of colour nominated for the main acting awards.
Here's what some celebrities had to say about it.
We lost another great this week in Glenn Frey of Eagles, many notable names once again taking to social media to share their condolences as they did with David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Lemmy Kilmister and Scott Weiland before him.

Glenn once asked me "what do you think of the name 'Eagles?'" I said "The Eagles. Great." He said "no, Eagles." The group is "Eagles."

There was plenty of backlash surrounding the nominations for the Oscars this year, with Jada Pinkett Smith, Will Smith, Snoop Dogg and more speaking out against the lack of diversity by boycotting the awards show. People had a lot of good shit to say about it — but we've ignored the slew of racist comments that are sadly strewn all over Twitter.

Protest lack of diversity at the Oscars by tuning out. Viewers generate ad dollars, and if no one watches, they're stuffed #OscarsSoWhite.

Actors nominate actors. THE "ACADEMY" DOES NOT NOMINATE ACTORS. Actors nominate actors. Remember this #OscarsSoWhite pic.twitter.com/dTPKr5kt8V
