Ballarat’s bratty breakout sons are coming for you. And when they get you you’re going to feel it in your bones.

The sound is frenetic, all weighty keys and thumping beats. The just-abrasive-enough alternating vocals of yelping Lachlan Morrish and commanding Michael Belsar are the perfect combination of reckless imagination. Forceful guitars are given momentum by the persistent, frantic rhythms courtesy of Daniel Marie and John Crawford. As for those melodies that have you bashing your face into marble countertops in vain attempts to evacuate them from your brain? Thank the man on keys Galen Strachan and the untamable Tim Street on guitar.

For want of just one word to describe HUNTING GROUNDS, let’s call it garage-disco-funk-punk on the grandest, sexiest, most insane scale. To say the least.

For one night only we have them playing LIVE at CAN'T SAY.

DZ DEATHRAYS are an Brisbane indie/thrash/punk 2-piece that have been creating a stir on the international scene.

They graced the stage of SXSW in 2011 and are returning with a bucket load of accolades. They were recently placed at #4 in NME’s Top 20 Most Exciting Bands of 2012, after securing spots in the Top 10 Bands of The Great Escape 2011 (UK) from both NME and Q Magazine. Zane Lowe of BBC1 gave them ‘Next Hype’ and their new single ‘No Sleep’ received a world premier on the station with Huw Stephens.

The single is the first off their forthcoming album, due for release mid-2012. It will also be available on an EP due for release on March 6th through 3QTR (USA) and Dine Alone (Can). They’ve toured the UK with Cerebral Ballzy and on the NME Radar tour with Wolfgang, as well as touring Australia with Foo Fighters, Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Crystal Castles to name a few.

They will be stopping by after their show at The Tote to play a DJ SET.

And last but not least, VELOCIRAPTOR - Emerging as a-3 piece in late 2008 and eventually transforming into its prime gang form (now 12 strong) as of mid-to-late 2009.

The result is underlying garage pop gems brought to life by an orchestra of guitars and gang vocals galore.

What's incredible is how coherent the chaos and screaming and shimmying sounds. Their MySpace page - fine as the songs are - really doesn't do the live experience justice. It's like the The Jesus and Mary Chain given a MASSIVE humour injection and several decent songs. It's like Shindig brought to life right in front of your disbelieving eyes. It's pure 60s and it's MASSIVE.

The will be partying with us after their show at the Tote to play a DJ SET.

In short, this is going to be awesome.
