The midweek figures for the ARIA Albums chart this week suggest that the race to #1 will likely come down to the renowned Aussie hip hop group's latest, Everyone We Know, and the soundtrack for the newly-released Fifty Shades Darker film.
Thundamentals are yet to claim a top-charting album (their 2014 record, So We Can Remember, peaked at #3), unlike the 2015-released Fifty Shades Of Grey soundtrack, which did peak at #1.
Both LP's are currently gunning for a top three finish.
The only threat to the make-up of the top end of the chart is Aussie country artist Adam Brand's Get On Your Feet, which is set for a top five debut.
Meanwhile, the full effect of Guns N'Roses current Aussie tour is being felt in the chart, with four of their works moving up including their Greatest Hits LP (top five), their 1987 debut, Appetite For Destruction (top 20) and Use Your Illusion I and Use Your Illusion II (both top 40).
Rounding out the album debuts this week include Rag'N'Bone Man's Human (top ten), Jay UF's Final Notice (top 20), Jess & Matt's Belmont Street (top 30) and Overkill's The Grinding Wheel (top 50).
Ed Sheeran's reign at the top of the ARIA Singles chart could be in jeopardy thanks to pop star Katy Perry's new track, Chained To The Rhythm, featuring Skip Marley.
While the UK songwriter has held on to the top two spots for over a month now with Shape Of You and Castle On The Hill (on the back of last week's promo tour), Perry's single is likely to land comfortably in the top five.
