They join the touring festival's 2014 line-up
Aussie indie-rock outfit Calling All Cars have been added to the mega Sonisphere line-up, alongside the likes of Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer and The Prodigy.
The Melbourne-bred band, who are now based in the UK, join fellow Aussies, prog stalwarts Karnivool and heavy dudes Airbourne on the bill.
It's been good times for Calling All Cars since they relocated to the UK, playing their first showcase at the massive The Great Escape last month, which led to their Sonisphere score.
"It's that funny thing about hard work and opportunity colliding - we just came off tour in Oz and were in good shape, so when we played The Great Escape and shit started falling apart onstage we leaned into it and made it explode," explained the band's frontman Hayden Ing

"Luckily enough our agent dragged a couple of the Sonisphere people down to witness it - I guess we made a good enough impression."
This year, the touring rock and metal festival will be held in England's Knebworth, at Knebworth Park from Friday 4 to Sunday 6 July. For more on the festival, click here.
