Caligula's HorseBrisbane-bred prog powerhouses Caligula's Horse are taking a giant step up to the global stage with a new worldwide label deal ahead of a busy period of international commitments.
The band have become the newest signing for Century Media label Inside Out Music, hot on the heels of a mammoth 12 months that have seen the band rack up success after success, from signing a management deal with Wild Thing Presents through to a North American booking contract with The Agency Group and support slots for internationally renowned contemporaries Opeth, Mastodon, The Ocean and Twelve Foot Ninja.
"Australia is home to many great bands and we are thrilled and excited to start working with Caligula's Horse, one of the most exciting Australian bands wen have heard in quite a while" Inside Out Music founder and chief executive Thomas Waber enthused in a statement.
It's an outlook shared with the band themselves, with vocalist Jim Grey adding in a separate statement: "Over the moon, man! Over the moon. This is a huge step for us — we're thrilled to be working with Inside Out, not to mention the honour of sharing a roster with some of our musical heroes… we're absolutely stoked!"
The band's most recent full-length was 2013's The Tide, The Thief & River's End, which they'll be flexing over Europe ways this October with a showing at the ProgPower Europe Festival in the Netherlands as well as a run of dates across the continent for good measure.
There are no concrete plans for an Aussie run of shows just yet, but expect that to change in the near future as Caligula's Horse status continues to rise at home and abroad. In the interim, you can enjoy a slice from the record, A Gift To Afterthought, to keep you sated while they're off impressing the world.
