Busta Rhymes Allegedly Throws Protein Shake At Gym Employee; Flavour Unknown

Throw protein shakes, not punches. That's Busta Rhymes' motto anyway.

The 43-year-old US rapper has been arrested and charged with second-degree assault after the rapper allegedly threw a protein shake at an employee at a New York City gym.

NY Daily News cites that Rhymes, real name Trevor Tahiem Smith Jnr, punted a cardboard container of chocolate Lean Body protein drink at Steel Gym, apparently aimed at the front desk employee who the day before had allegedly refused to allow the rapper to film his strenuous and very impressive workout routine.

Frequenters of the bodybuilding gym offer reports of Rhymes returning to the gym the following day, heading to the front desk to buy some water and the offending protein shake, only to have the employee tell him to leave.

Rhymes then allegedly threw the shake at his head, with police reports stating it hit the worker in the back of the head. 

Even though NY Daily News claim the protein shake was of the chocolate variety, SPIN, The Guardian and USA Today all reckon the shake was strawberry-flavoured. We just want the truth because frankly, it's a very vital part of the story.

Sean Aird, a Brooklyn bodybuilder, said, "Things got heated. Busta splashed water on him and the employee threw water back. Busta’s security got between them. The cops came and (the employee) kept changing his story."

Aird seems to bring another angle to the story, claiming Rhymes threw plain old water at the Steel Gym worker, not a chocolate or strawberry protein shake at all. 

On his Instagram, Rhymes told his fans, "Thanks to everyone who helped expedite this evening for me. I'm good and we're back to the grind. Heading 2 the studio 2 turn the bullshit into GREATNESS. I'm super good."

He's due back in court on 6 November, where we'll hopefully find out what flavour the protein shake was.
