UMG welcome Dog Whistle Music

Fledgling local country music record label Dog Whistle Music has announced a partnership deal with Universal Music Group.

The deal will see Universal handle the almost year-old label's distribution, with two new releases already confirmed under the partnership for the new year. Country-pop outfit Victoria Avenue will release their first EP this Friday, while singer-songwriter and musician Melanie Dyer will unveil her new EP sometime over the coming months, both to be distributed by Universal.

Dog Whistle began operations in March of last year, the brainchild of HSF Artists Services owner Tom Inglis and Brisbane-based producer Andrew Cochrane.

Of the new partnership, Inglis said the Dog Whistle team were "extremely excited" to be joining the Universal family.

"This is the start of a thrilling phase to realize our vision - to sign, launch and develop young contemporary country artists in the Australian market," Inglis added.
