“We stand before you embarrassed Americans tonight."

Bruce Springsteen is having a ball with this whole Donald Trump thing during his Aussie tour.

After taking aim at the US president on two separate occasions during his shows in Perth and Adelaide in the past week, the music legend turned his attention to the widely-publicised phone conversation that allegedly went down yesterday between Trump and Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull during his Melbourne gig.

According to Consequence Of Sound, Springsteen opened his set AAMI Park on Thursday night by telling the crowd, "We stand before you embarrassed Americans tonight.

"This is a song from 1965 by The Orlons. We’re going to use this to send a letter back home."

And with that, Springsteen and the E Street Band broke into a cover of Don't Hang Up, which include the fitting lyrics, "Don’t hang up/ Oh no, pretty darling, baby/ Don’t hang up/ Don’t hang up like you always do".
