Guess we'll have ourselves a/some beer(s)

Brisbane venue The Brightside is apparently venturing into the wide world of sports with grand plans to kick off a real-life BASEketball league, opening up expressions of interest for teams of aspiring psych-out/free-throw masters to join the shenanigans.

Inspired by the cult 1998 comedy of the same name starring South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker and a quiet "test run" over the weekend, the venue announced on Facebook this afternoon that it will be kicking off "in a few weeks".

"It's four-a-side, free to play, inside and air conditioned, the bar will definitely be open, runs on a Saturday during the day and will be playing bulk Reel Big Fish," organisers wrote.

If you're sceptical — and fair enough — rest easy; the venue has already assured in response to the raised eyebrows of one commenter that this is all "100% legit".
