More Allday More Allday

Ubiquitous troubadour Dan Sultan, hip-hop revolutionary Allday, 2013 Unearthed artist of the year Remi and ascendant Adelaide-by-way-of-Baghdad-based performer Motez will lead the charge for the 2014 iteration of Brisbane's Valley Fiesta, which announced its first line-up details today.

The fab foursome head up an esteemed roster of acts that includes Safia, Basenji, Jordan Rakei, DJ Butcher, Young Franco, a Queensland Music Awards Showcase featuring Jeremy Neale, MKO, Mosman Alder, Georgia Potter, Band Of Frequencies and Sunday As One featuring special guests, as well as a very special AV set from renowned performer Sampology.

In addition to the enticing musical prospects, the Fiesta – taking place on Saturday, August 23, and Sunday, August 24, this year – offers deliciousness on tap (figuratively and literally) between features such as the Chinatown Chow Down, the Red Bull Crate Diggers & Music Market, and the annual Valley Swap Shoppe.

“The 2014 Valley Fiesta will include a new daytime program, giving Fiesta-goers the chance to shop, swap, eat, drink and explore as the precinct comes alive like never before,” Lord Mayor Graham Quirk said in a statement.

“Council has partnered with over 50 local businesses with one-day only offers and discounts available from some of the Valley's most popular retailers on Saturday.

“This year, the Chinatown Mall will play host to its very own fiesta-themed program from 12pm Saturday with tickets on sale for the Chinatown Chow Down offering four different banquet sittings to enjoy the best of Chinatown's culinary offerings.

“The Chinatown Mall will then be converted into Brisbane's Biggest Outdoor Karaoke Bar as the sun goes down on Saturday night, featuring a live 'Rockaoke' band and roaming street performers.”
