Brisbane indie rockers Morning Harvey have scored a top nod from one of the most influential and iconic radio stations in the US, Seattle's KEXP.
Speaking to The Music, the band's Spencer White says, "We were genuinely surprised when Smith Street [Swap Meet] was getting solid appreciation from US radio, even before we were really feeling the love as much at home. It was a great pat on the back to see it continue to do well, and it was reassuring to know that the direction we've been going with our music was being supported continuously away from home."
The station, known for championing indie and alternative rock, awarded Smith Street Swap Meet the coveted Song Of The Day title back in 2015 and recently premiered their newest single, Holy Gun, with the station's John Richards stating, "Seriously, though. You need to be on this now."
"A lot of music we really identify with has come from the States and has been supported by KEXP. It's humbling to know our music is reaching audiences in other parts of the world," White said.

The band will be taking Holy Gun on the road later this month, stopping in at Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney from 29 April. Their debut album is due out mid-2017 and and features Holy Gun (which we premiered this February) as well as triple j favourite, Susanne Monday, which we premiered in July last year here on theMusic.com.au.
