Bootleg Rascal Announce 'Asleep In The Machine’ Tenth Anniversary Tour

Along with the tour, Bootleg Rascal have also announced a deluxe edition of 'Asleep In The Machine,' set for release next month.

Yugambeh/Gold Coast-based duo Bootleg Rascal are hitting the road from September to November. Celebrating the tenth anniversary of their beloved, critically acclaimed debut album, Asleep In The Machine, the tour will comprise 13 dates across the country.

Stopping in metropolitan and regional locations, the tour will find the duo performing Asleep In The Machine in its entirety, as well as cuts from last year’s self-titled album, and a bunch of fan favourites.

The shows begin at Byron Bay’s Arts Factory on Friday, 11 September. They continue with shows in Fremantle, Margaret River, Bunbury, Sydney, Wollongong, Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart, Melbourne, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, and conclude at Adelaide’s Ed Castle on Saturday, 7 November.

Along with the tour, Bootleg Rascal have also announced a deluxe edition of Asleep In The Machine, set for release on Wednesday, 12 August.

The deluxe version of the record will be home to renditions of Drop The Gun and Bones N Bricks in Spanish, as well as an acoustic version of the title track and the first-ever digital release of I’d Do Anything.

Speaking on Baja El Arma, the Español rendition of Drop The Gun, frontman Carlos Lara said, “Drop The Gun has been a staple in our live sets for a decade now, but singing it in Español completely changes the flavour. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do to bring a bit of my own heritage into the Bootleg Rascal repertoire.”

Asleep In The Machine was one of Bootleg Rascal’s first career-defining moments. The duo previously performed the title track on triple j’s Like a Version, while the album itself has amassed 35 million streams across Spotify and Apple Music.
