What The Brothers Sang will celebrate the legendary American group.
Bonnie 'Prince ' Billy and Dawn McCarthy (Faun Fables) have come together to make What The Brothers Sang, a record in tribute to and featuring the music of The Everly Brothers.
The album is made with a deep respect for the legendary American group, but without being a mere exercise in nostalgia; the label this evening issuing a press release that insists these new renditions offer something very new to the songs that so many of us know so well.
The two artists keep their harmonies in the same tradition as the Everlys, but offer a whole lot of their own musical personality as well. The duo have been joined by a stellar cast of musicians for the record as well, Emmett Kelley, Dave Roe and Kenny Malone are the core group, while Billy Contreras, John Mock, Dan Dugmore, Matt Sweeney, Pete Townsend, John Catchings, Bobby Wood, Joey Miskalin, Nils Frykdahl, Ian McAllister, Joey Baron, Dr. Chris Vivio, and Noah Tag all feature as well.
What The Brothers Sang will be released through Spunk Records on Friday 15 February.
