According to sources close to the band, iconic Britpop outfit Blur have plans to tour Australia next year as part of an `extensive world tour’.
Representative for booking agency X-Ray Touring, Ian Huffman, broke the news during a recent interview with Pollstar.com:
“Blur is planning a relatively extensive world tour next year, including Europe, Japan, South America and Australia,” Huffman told Pollstar.
X-Ray Touring has booked Blur for shows in Barcelona, Spain and Oporto, Portugal as part of the Primavera 2013 festival in May next year.
The band will also perform at Belgium’s Rock Werchter, which runs July 4-7.
Blur’s last Australian tour was 16 year ago.
While we wait on the official word, here’s some fan footage of Blur’s massive Hyde Park gig in August.
