"Our music industry needs it."
Bluesfest director Peter Noble is determined for its 2021 event to go ahead, this week revealing that 60 acts have already been booked.
Following the cancellation of the 2020 festival and the uncertainty surrounding when live music and international touring will return due to COVID restrictions, Noble they are planning for 2021.
“Around half the artist are currently international, the other half are Aussies," Noble said in a statement.
“If we find that the international can’t come, we will invite more Aussies. If we find the internationals can come, we might add more internationals. If the Government finds the way to lift restrictions, we will celebrate a fairly normal Bluesfest event, if there is such a thing."
The statement concludes, "All we ask is for you to believe... and we will do what we have been doing for over 30 years - Make it happen!"
