Bloc Party played a surprise show in Byron Bay over the weekend in preparation for their Splendour In The Grass appearance the following day.
The band played at the Great Northern Hotel under the name The Silent Alarms (after the title of their debut album Silent Alarm') to about 400 people.
Frontman Kele Okereke said:
"They billed us as The Silent Alarms so we decided to live up to the name. We're here in the most beautiful part of Australia and we wanted to do something special for you."
