Illusive Sounds are very proud to announce that Bliss N Eso's latest album, Flying Colours, has been announced as a nominee for Best Urban Release at this year's Motorola ARIA Awards. This signifies the trio's third consecutive ARIA nomination. Bliss N Eso's nationwide Flying Colours Tour has begun with a hydrogen bomb-sized bang with three back-to-back sell out shows over the weekend including their already infamous show at Melbourne's Prince of Wales, which according to inthemix.com.au has earnt them the spot of Australia's premier hip-hop act. The weekend's Bendigo gig was the first ever show to sell out the venue before the night. All remaining major city shows are all either in the stage of final ticket release or sold out. In other big news, Flying Colours has won the Desktop Create Award for Best Packaging Design. After being chosen amongst the 500+ initial selections alongside a bunch of beer bottles, video game packs, sauce containers and potato chip packets, and then graduating to the shortlist of 20 finalists, the album was announced as the category's winner at the Desktop Create Awards in Melbourne last Friday. The package was a collaborative effort between designer April 77 (who also worked on their previous album's artwork), illustrator and tattoo artist Steve Cross and photographer Dean Hammer. With so much talk of threes, Flying Colours' upcoming third single, The Sea is Rising, surely has to break some kind of worldwide sales record. It just has to.
