Blink-182 were a late addition to the 2023 Coachella line-up, appearing on the event schedule, which was announced just days before weekend one of the mega festival began.
The band’s appearance at Coachella on Friday (or Saturday morning, if you were live streaming from Australia) was the first time the classic lineup of Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge performed together in nine years.
Taking to the stage with the swears-filled Family Reunion, blink-182 then burst into Anthem Part Two and The Rock Show before they played further hits like Dynstery Gary, What’s My Age Again, the live debut of Edging, Happy Holidays, You Bastard; All The Small Things, and Aliens Exist for the first time with DeLonge since 2001.
The set started rough, with DeLonge needing to shake off some nerves. It didn't take long for the trademark blink-182 energy, harmonies, and enthusiastic crowd reaction to help him warm up to their massive first show back.
Of course, it’s not a blink-182 show without some crass NSFW banter, and with the Dalai Lama allegedly recently sucking a boy’s tongue, no one was safe from Hoppus and DeLonge.

In December, the band revealed that they were working on the next story in the Anthem saga, with the band teasing Anthem Pt. 3 on Instagram.
Anthem was released on the American pop punk band's breakthrough album, 1999's Enema Of The State, and received a sequel in 2001 with Anthem Part Two featuring on the album Take Off Your Pants And Jacket. A live rendition of Anthem Part Two appeared as a bonus track on the Untitled record (2003).
You can catch blink-182 in Australia and New Zealand in February 2024.
