Blink-182's Mark Hoppus Cancer Scan 'Clean'

"Thankful for every day I get to be here. Love you all."

More blink-182 blink-182

Blink-182's Mark Hoppus has taken to social media to confirm his latest cancer scan has 'come back clean'. The singer underwent treatment for stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma in mid-2021, before confirming its success three months later. Hoppus confirmed in an Instagram Story that his one-year scan has cleared him again of the disease.

"Very grateful today," he wrote. "My scan came back clean and I'm cancer-free. Thankful for every day I get to be here. Love you all."

In December, the singer confirmed that his public revealation of his illness was an accident, with an initial post of him showing his chemo treatment at the time was meant for a private account accessed only by friends and family. He instead posted it to his million-plus followers before realising his error and replacing the post later in the day with an official statement.

He later added, "I felt so shitty. And the brain fog is so bad. The chemo brain is just heartbreaking to me because I can feel myself diminished mentally right now."

Hoppus will continue to be tested every six months to ensure he remains cancer-free.

Meanwhile the singer has lent his significant celebrity to the new Beauty School Dropout track 'Almost Famous'. The video is a delicious Spinal Tap style rhomp. Meanwhile, over in Blink-182 land, the band continue to flog merch like anniversary t-shirts and Funko Pops, while fans continue to hope for a reuniting with Tom DeLonge in the continuing 'will they / won't they' saga.
