'Vulnicura' will be unleashed this March
Icelandic weird-pop/experimental singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Bjork will release her ninth studio full-length album this year, four years after her previous album Biophilia.
The new work, titled Vulnicura, will hit shelves internationally this March, though Bjork's explanatory accompanying Facebook post wasn't generous with purchase details beyond that, simply pointing to the title and release month, as well as providing the track list for the album and coining the word "warmthness" because up yours, she's Bjork (or "Gevk", maybe).
Six of the album's nine songs were composed solely by Bjork, two were co-writes with producer Arca and another with collaborator John Flynn. Bjork also called upon British producer The Haxan Cloak for select production and mixing duties, with final mastering performed by Mandy Parnell at Black Saloon Studios, whose previous clients include the like of Animal Collective, Badly Drawn Boy, Chemical Brothers, Four Tet, Holy Fuck and seriously countless others.
Although it's been four years since we last heard new Bjork material, the venerated songstress has been keeping well busy - she appeared in a 2013 documentary alongside renowned nature filmmaker Sir David Attenborough titled When Bjork Met Attenborough, before last year collaborating with temperamental experimental hip hop outfit Death Grips on their polarising Niggas On The Moon release.
