Birds Of Tokyo announce tour

Since the independent release of their second studio album, Universes, BIRDS OF TOKYO have not had time to stop – a number 3 ARIA debut album, triple j feature album, national radio airplay, nominations for the Channel [V] Oz Artist Of The Year Award and the 2008 J Award and 2 huge national tours, totalling 32 sold-out shows!

In the lead-up to appearances at the Southbound, Rock-It and Pyramid Rock Festivals and a national run on the Big Day Out tour, BIRDS OF TOKYO have announced The Wild Eyed Boy Tour. Hitting Perth and all major East Coast cities, the tour will see the band play its biggest headline shows yet.

The tour’s namesake, Wild Eyed Boy, is the third single from Universes. Following the incredible success of Silhouettic and Broken Bones, Wild Eyed Boy is an emotionally charged and hard-hitting summer track; a pure example of the musicianship and honesty which loyal BIRDS OF TOKYO fans now know and love. Filmed between Sydney and the band’s hometown of Perth, the film clip for Wild Eyed Boy will be available to watch on the Birds Of Tokyo MySpace page from November 30.

After the Wild Eyed Boy Tour, Birds Of Tokyo will be heading to Austin Texas for the South By Southwest music showcase.

BIRDS OF TOKYO will hit Brisbane, Sydney, Newcastle, Hobart, Melbourne and Adelaide on the Wild Eyed Boy tour throughout March. They also play Western Australia’s Rock-it Festival and the national Big Day Out circuit.
