Bill Murray To Release Debut Album This Year

New Worlds for Bill Murray

Just when you thought Hollywood legend Bill Murray couldn’t get any cooler, the actor and comedian announces he’ll be releasing an album later this year.

According to New York Times, Murray’s debut album, New Worlds, will be a classical affair and feature songs (including West Side Story hits, Stephen Foster’s Jeanie With the Light Brown Hair, Van Morrison, Gershwin and more) and literary readings to music by cellist Jan Vogler.

Being released under the name Bill Murray, Jan Vogler & Friends, the project first started taking shape in 2013 when Murray and Vogler became friends on a flight.

New Worlds is expected to drop in August with a number of US gigs planned in support.

Murray often dabbles in music, having recently appeared on Paul Shaffer’s new album and worked on a Christmas single with Phoenix in 2015, among a slew of other credits.
