The renowned comic will perform four shows in January
Acclaimed US stand-up comedian Bill Burr has announced his return to Australia for headline run of shows in Australia, which will see him land Down Under in late January to split some antipodean sides on both Y-axis coasts on four occasions.
Kicking off at Perth's Riverside Theatre on Tuesday, January 27, Burr will jet eastwards to hit Melbourne on Thursday, January 29, at Hamer Hall; Brisbane's City Hall on Saturday, January 31; and back down to Sydney to wrap up at the Opera House on Sunday, February 1.
Having spent the past twenty-odd years building up a reputation abroad as one of his generation's foremost comics, Burr will already be familiar to fans of Breaking Bad as well as Chappelle's Show, in which he recurrently appeared during season two, though avid watchers of US late-night shows hosted by the likes of David Letterman, Conan O'Brien and Jimmy Fallon may also be across his brand of politically incorrect satire-cum-observational humour. Additionally, Burr hosts the weekly, hour-long Monday Morning Podcast, a favourite among stream-of-consciousness, quasi-offensive rant enthusiasts everywhere.
With a busy 2015 ahead — he'll be co-starring alongside resurgent '90s drawcard Kevin Costner in upcoming flick Black Or White, as well as ushering in his Netflix-commissioned animated series F Is For Family — and an on-form 2014, during which he featured in Sandra Bullock/Melissa McCarthy buddy flick The Heat and alongside Al Pacino and Christopher Walken in Stand Up Guys, quickly fading into the sunset, Burr is in a prime position to deliver four nights of solid, hearty laughter when he makes return to our shores for his headline tour early next year.
