Big Scary, Violent Soho, RÜFÜS To Perform At Indie Awards

Archie Roach another coup for the awards

Some of Australia's favourite artists at the moment will perform at this year's Carlton Dry Independent Music Awards, the country's most respected awards for the indie sector.

Recent chart toppers RÜFÜS will be joined by Violent Soho, Big Scary, Seth Sentry and Saskwatch with Aboriginal music legend Archie Roach providing an extra sense of gravitas to the night.

RÜFÜS recently shot to number one on the ARIA Album Charts with their debut full-length Atlas, beating fellow Aussies Dead letter Circus and Cloud Control to the punch, while Violent Soho have been pushing out some killer jams on their way to a new album.

Big Scary's Not Art album is probably one of the best Australian releases of 2013 so far, Seth Sentry is back in town after taking on the US mid-year and currently on tour and Saskwatch have spent the year driving forward a new 'Melbourne soul'.

Something of a coup for the awards, Archie Roach was recently inducted into the National Indigenous Music Awards' Hall Of Fame and won Album Of The Year for Into The Bloodstream.

Held once more at Melbourne's Revolt venue, the re-branded awards will take place Wednesday 9 October.
