Following news, which saw AJ Maddah sell his share of national festival Big Day Out to US company C3 Presents, it now appears the long-standing event will not run in 2015.

Following news, which saw AJ Maddah sell his share of national festival Big Day Out to US company C3 Presents, it now appears the long-standing event will not run in 2015.


Reports suggest the festival has not booked usual venues, with sources confirming the situation.


"All I know is they cancelled the booking last week and we were told to release the date," general manager of the Sydney Showground, Peter Thorpe told Sydney Morning Herald.


Equally, an unnamed source involved with a Big Day Out sideshows venue in Melbourne believes there “will not be a Big Day Out in 2015.”


Maddah removed himself as director this month after selling his shares to the aforementioned Austin based, C3 Presents.
