Big Day Out releases second round of bands, major changes to Perth and Adelaide

The second round of bands for 2012's instalment of the annual Big Day Out Festival has been released, headed by none other than Noel Gallagher of Oasis fame. Joining him will be indie darlings The Vaccines, stalwarts of the hip-hop blogosphere Das Racist, dubstep extraordinaire Bassnectar and local rap favourite Drapht, among many others.Triple J Unearthed winners in each city have also been announced, with King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard (Melbourne), Dune Rats (Gold Coast) and The Growl (Perth) along with Honey Pies (Adelaide) and Underlights (Sydney) all set to play.

In addition, Lees & West have announced major downgrades for the Perth and Adelaide legs of the festival, reducing the number of stages from 7 to 4. Kanye West, Hilltop Hoods and Mariachi El Bronx have been cut from the Adelaide lineup. The Perth event has been moved to Brown Stadium, with Mr West, Hilltop Hoods and The Living End no longer performing.

In compensation, punters in Perth and Adelaide are being offered either a $20 merch voucher, a ticket exchange for an event in another city, or a full refund which will be valid until November 30th.
