They’ve also shared the single ‘In The Middle’, a poignant track about “the realisation that your relationship is over”.

Between You & Me have announced they’ll be dropping a new EP called SH!T YEAH in just a little over a month, sharing the news alongside their poignant new single In The Middle.
In a press release, frontman Jake Wilson explained that the song is “about the realisation that your relationship is over”, encapsulating “the slow breakdown” of that bond “and the acceptance in moving on”.
He expounded on the sentiment: “The strong joy and excitement you once brought to each other’s lives had been replaced with fighting, bitterness and a complete breakdown in communication. Even despite this, you both yearn for it to work out and dream of the better times. You break up, you get back together, and the cycle continues, despite both recognising you had grown apart as people and the trust for each other was irreparable.”

SH!T YEAH was produced by Canadian stalwart Sam Guaiana – with whom the band also worked on their 2021 album Armageddon – who flew to Australia to record it with the band at Beveridge Road Recording Studios in Victoria’s Dandenong Ranges. The record is due out independently on April 5 – head here to pre-save it.

In The Middle comes as our third preview of the EP, following the release of Nevermind last March and YEAH! in November. The EP will also mark Between You & Me’s first longform release since they parted ways with Hopeless Records in 2022.
Meanwhile, last October saw the band’s bassist, James Karagiozis, link up with members of Polaris, Stand Atlantic and more to perform with Linkin Park legend Mike Shinoda. Karagiozis said of the endeavour: “This project was so much fun. Working with Mike was a dream and a breeze; he is one great human being. I have been a big fan for a long time, and the whole thing felt so surreal but also genuine. Working with a hero and then feeling like we were peers by the end of it was not on my bucket list for ‘23, but I’m here for it and vibing.”
