The incomparable Beth Orton has today announced her return to Australian shores, this time coming over to be a part of the very special Heavenly Sounds shows that take place in beautiful churches around the country.

Orton returns in May on the back of her latest LP Sugaring Season, her first record since taking a lengthy six year hiatus from touring and recording in order to raise a family. The album has been received with great praise, critics loving the singer-songwriter's return to her folky roots and we reckon they will sound pretty special when presented in churches and cathedrals as she plays a bunch of shows in duo mode.

You can see Orton playing songs from throughout her 20 year career at the following show. Tickets are available from Ticketek from Monday 4 March (except Perth, where they go on sale from Tuesday 5 March).
