Starting from mid-April, undisputed Weimar kabarett punk provocateur, Bernie Dieter, will return to North Melbourne’s Meat Market with an award-nominated, bewitching show.

The critically acclaimed global sensation, Club Kabarett, will take over the Meat Market from Tuesday to Sunday, running from Friday, 17 April, to Sunday, 24 May. Dieter promises unfiltered and debaucherous chaos, original music, and performances with her live Haus band.

Drawing inspiration from the 1920s pre-war Weimar kabarett scene in Berlin, Club Kabarett is a modern-day interpretation of those historic dens, featuring untamed, genre-defying performances that celebrate freedom and equality.

Club Kabarett was recently nominated for three Green Room Awards for last year’s Melbourne Meat Market season. The limited-season return is expected to sell out quickly, so secure your tickets here.

“This show encapsulates all that is truly wonderful about Melbourne in so many ways,” Dieter commented in a statement.

“Australia’s culture capital really personifies all that this show represents, freedom, expression, individuality and of course the ability to throw a bloody good party! I was overwhelmed by the response to our show last year, so we are so looking forward to bringing it back for even longer this time!”

Along with Dieter and her haus band, an incredible roster of talented performers is set to appear at Club Kabarett’s next Melbourne season.

Among the acts performing are show favourites, Soliana Erse, a world class contortionist, and “human heatwave,” Jacqueline Furey. They’ll be joined by avant-garde entertainer, Iva Rosebud, world-renowned circus performer, Jarred Dewey, international tap dancer Caleb Cameron, and the “hair suspension” viral TikTok sensation, Melissa Lee.

In addition to last year’s season in Melbourne, Club Kabarett has gone international, having headlined the Auckland Festival and Sziget Festival in Budapest. The show has also taken place at London’s West End and headlined a show at Adelaide’s Garden of Unearthly Delights.
