Silverchair's Ben Gillies Releases His Debut Solo Single

Former Silverchair drummer Ben Gillies has shared his debut solo single today, dubbed Breathe In, Breathe Out.

The single is the first of the body of music Gillies been working on over the past five years, seeing him head into the studio with producer Jordan Power and working on collaborations with Grinspoon guitarist Pat Devern and The Voice music director Scott Aplin.

"Breathe In, Breathe Out is a microcosm of the human experience," said Gillies. 

"To recognise every moment. To stop, be present, take it in, and not to take it for granted."

Gillies recently joined brand new podcast series Rewind to chat with host Steve Bell about the making of Silverchair's seminal album, Frogstomp. 

"I think it's probably why it's an album that's really stuck with people and stood the test of time," said Gillies when discussing why Frogstomp is the group's most honest record.
