Ben Folds Five Announce Crowdfunded Album

This afternoon the reunited Ben Folds Five launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for their next album - their first since 1999's The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner. After only a few hours, the band has already met 60 percent of their target, and so, with 60 days still to go, we might finally get to see that Ben Folds Five album recorded on the moon that no one's ever talked about until now.

Or, they were just being modest in their estimated costs. Or, they have a lot of fans.

By pledging, not only will you receive the album (at the very least) upon its completion, but you'll also be privy to bonuses along the way - such as videos and other bits and pieces.

The trio have announced an Ireland and UK tour in November and a bunch of international festival dates such as Bonnaroo, so an Australian tour must certainly be in the works.
