As Bello Winter Music Festival nears, event organisers have outlined their commitment to educating punters about being environmentally sustainable through their Bello LeaF program, in its second year at the festival in 2016.
Created in partnership with Bellingen Shire Learning Alliance, the program will offer both attendees and non-ticket holders of the four-day festival a chance to attend walking tours of the Northbank Community Garden, the Bellingen Island rainforest, an Edible and Medicinal Weeds Walk, as well as fire-making skills workshops, meditation/yoga classes and a Gumbaynggirr language workshop.
Bello Winter Music Festival's GM Maggie Quirk said, "The LeaF program is a great way to get involved with the Bellingen community, discover interesting new skills and rejuvenate throughout the festival. The program was extremely popular with families last year."
The workshops are all free for ticket holders of the festival and available to those not attending the festival with just a donation.
This year's festival takes hold of Bellingen from 7 to 10 July, with the likes of Tijuana Cartel, Mojo Juju and Kylie Auldist slated in to play.
