Beckah Amani Releases Mellow Pop Masterpiece Along With An Australian Tour

Spring marks the season of falsetto coming into full bloom, as Gold Coast-based singer-songwriter Beckah Amani has released a new single, Superstar, today, along with the announcement of an Australian tour happening across October and November.
With its light and breezy acoustic guitar as well as granules of lush sample-based harmony, Amani’s latest track, Superstar, is the perfect balance of mellow and movement-encouraging.
Amani croons the chorus, “When you shoot for my heart, You got issues that are fighting for your stars”, showing off her falsetto that could pass for birdsong.
“Superstar is about being confronted with the choice to trust that someone is actually serious about you—that they aren’t like the person who came before and that they aren’t wasting your time,” the Burundian-Australian singer says of the new release.
She continued, “I find that sometimes, no matter how much you want to dive in with someone new, you can’t quite decide whether someone's attention is superficial (like loving a superstar) or if it’s genuine and lasting.
"Superstar is about that phase between enjoying the attention you're receiving and protecting your heart. It’s saying, “I’ll love you like a superstar for now, but if you mean what you say, prove it, because I won’t make it easy for you to shoot for my heart.”

The singer took to Instagram on Monday night to tease her new song, hard launching the name ‘Superstar’ on the second slide. Peers such as Birdee and Emily Wurramara were quick to comment their praise.
“My mini mic and a special guest will be yapping all about it tomorrow!!!!!!!!” Amani said before following up on Tuesday to confirm the single name.
“We are going to be dancing and singing well into summer with this one.”
Along with the news of her brand new single, Amani has provided details for an upcoming Love You Like A Superstar tour, which will sweep through the Eastern coast of Australia. Expect to catch Amani’s ethereal vocals live in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane throughout November.
Prior to her headlining tour, Amani will be showcasing her talents at Sydney’s second edition of South by Southwest (SXSW). Amani will be playing across Chippendale’s Lansdowne Hotel and Sneaky Possum Bar.
