The Beastie Boys' long awaited new album, Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 is set for release on May 3, 2011. The album will be the first studio album from the band since 2004's To The 5 Boroughs, apart from their instrumental record, The Mix-Up.

The planned release of Hot Sauce Committee Part 1 in 2009 was put on hold indefinitely after Adam "MCA" Yauch was diagnosed with cancer. He is now in remission, now and the Beastie Boys are working on new videos, a documentary and were nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
