Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby was the big winner at last night's 3rd annual AACTA Awards, taking home six gongs including Best Film and Best Direction.
The cast of the lavish adaptation of the acclaimed novel also enjoyed a stellar night - Leonardo DiCaprio won Best Lead Actor, while Aussies Joel Edgerton and Elizabeth Debicki took home the awards for Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress respectively. Lurhmann and Craig Pearce were recognised in the Best Adapted Screenplay category.
Gatsby previously won seven other AACTA gongs at the awards' luncheon event earlier this week, including outstanding achievement in visual effects, meaning it has now won a total of 13 AACTAs.
It was also a big night for the Nine network's Power Games: The Packer-Murdoch Story, winning three awards including Best Lead Actor In A Television Drama to Lachy Hume. The Offspring, Redfern Now and Please Like Me were some of the other television winners.
Veteran actress Jacki Weaver was the recipient of the Raymond Longford award, while the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) were awarded the Byron Kennedy accolade for creative excellence and innovation.
The AACTA Awards took place at Sydney's The Star.
