It's going to be a pretty special weekend by the sounds of things.
The Barunga Festival is just a few weeks away now and the line-up and program has now been completely finalised.
Joining the bill of musical artists who play such a big part in the festival, and joining the already announced John Butler and Gurrumul are Emma Louise, Thelma Plum, B2M, Tjupi Band, Lonely Boys and Tom E. Lewis.
The festival, which takes place from Friday 7 June to Monday 10, is in its 27th year and sees people from all over the country descend upon a small indigenous community south of Katherine where they camp and take part in a program of workshops, dancing ceremonies, traditional bush tucker gathering, didgeridoo making, basket weaving and enjoy plenty of great music and sport from the region.
This year is the first year that Skinnyfish Music's Mark Grose and Michael Hohnen have been given control of the event; they will continue to organise it for the next five years.
