Band Members Confirmed Dead & Missing After Indonesian Tsunami Hits Mid-gig

The band's singer confirmed the news.

The bass player and manager of Indonesian band Seventeen were killed after a tsunami tragically swept through their show across the weekend.

As CNN reports, the pop outfit were performing to a large crowd at an open-air concert at Tanjung Lesung beach resort in Java on Saturday night when the wave hit the show.

Vocalist Riefian Fajarsyah confirmed the passing of bassist Bani and the band’s manager Oki Wijaya via social media.

Seventeen’s drummer and guitarist as well as another crew member and Fajarsyah’s wife are also missing.

Officials say at least 222 in the region were killed by wave with hundreds more injured or missing.
