In news just days from the Sydney and Perth leg of the Supanova event, the iconic voice of Bart Simpson, Nancy Cartwright, has cancelled on her appearances at the huge pop culture expo.
Cartwright wrote to Daniel Zachariou, Supanova's Event Director in an email: "Sadly, you should know I’ve received the below message from The Simpsons Producers and am unable to travel to Australia. As you may have heard we have been playing catch up on the show.
"I am so disappointed that I cannot visit with my fabulous fans down under this time! I so thank you for your invitation and for your very kind consideration of me."
The "below message" that Cartwright is referring to are the dates Cartwight was required to work on The Simpsons, sent to her by her casting director.
Zachariou commented, "While this is obviously a blow to our fans of Nancy and The Simpsons, we’re fortunate to still be hosting our biggest line up ever with an amazing cast bursting at the seams from the worlds of film, TV, anime, cartoons, comics, wrestling, authors and the internet.
"We’ll also make sure, in conjunction with our ticketing partners Moshtix, that any Nancy Cartwright specific pre-purchases are refunded ASAP."

Supanova 2015 features a plethora of pop culture legends, including Harry Potter's Jason Isaacs and Bonnie Wright (Lucius Malfoy and Ginny Weasley, respectively), John DiMaggio (Futurama's Bender, Adventure Time's Jake The Dog), Mike Lookinland (Bobby from The Brady Bunch), WWE wrestler Jake 'The Snake' Roberts and a countless others.
Supanova stops by Sydney Showground from 19 — 21 June and Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre 27 — 28 June.
