Australian Institute Of Music Opens Melbourne Campus

Plus another education rumour

The Australian Institute Of Music have launched a Melbourne office to extend the music college's reach into what it describes as the “live music capital of Australia”.

The campus will officially open later this year, with the first intake to place 28 January 2014. In the first year AIM will be offereing Diploma and Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Performance and Composition & Music Production and a Bachelor of Entertainment Management.

Their main Sydney campus recently hosted the inaugural Tomorrow's Ideas Leading Today [TILT] conference.

AIM's Executive Dean, Professor Ian Bofinger, said, “We aim to provide students with the practical skills and knowledge to build their career paths in the creative and performing arts. We also offer valuable insight into the inner workings of the arts industry and engender students with the tools to adapt to the ever-increasing employment opportunities across the arts.”

An information night will be held Wednesday 28 August.

In other music industry education news, industry sources have informed theMusic.com.au that another college is set to line-up a deal with a leading venue to offer an on-site live sound engineering course.

It is believed the subsequent course will be completed completely on-site. Confirmation is expected later this year.
