New vocalist will be a welcome addition to their forthcoming Australian tour.
Following the news that Finnish metal band Nightwish had parted ways with lead singer Anette Olzon, Australian record label and touring company Rockstar Productions have released a statement regarding the decision.
In the statement, Rockstar said they wish Olzon "the very best in all her future endeavours as no doubt, she will make her new mark when the timing is right for her."
They also went on to express their delight at the band's choice of their lead singer for their upcoming Aussie tour in vocalist Floor Jansen.
“Floor Jansen, (ex After Forever, Re-Vamp) is the perfect fit for Nightwish. She is a classically trained operatic and rock vocalist and her vocal range has to be heard to be believed. With the addition of Floor Jansen, Nightwish have managed their strongest line up in the history of the band.”

The statement adds another chapter in the long history of the symphonic rockers, including the controversial sacking of former lead singer Tarja Turunen in 2005.
