Aussie legend Kevin Borich has dropped the second cut from his forthcoming Duets album, 'The Fires' with The Eagles' Joe Walsh.
The single marks the first time the duo have got together since playing in 80s supergroup The Party Boys. Featuring the vocals of two of rock and blues' finest purveyors, the track is a strong track and a signpost to what is to come from Borich's Duets album, slated for release on July 14.
Featuring duets with music icons Tim Rogers, Leo Sayer, Ian Moss, Angry Anderson, Suzi DeMarchi, the Eagles’ Joe Walsh, Ella Hooper and many more, Borich’s new album is “a celebration of a lifetime of music...with friends!”
Borich said: “Not just their amazing voices but Joe Walsh and Ian Moss played some guitar, Joe Camilleri played Sax and Ross Wilson on the Harp,” Borich explained in a press release. “Duets has been a real labour of love. Recorded over the last several years, we had so many obstacles, so many challenges, so many late nights. [Producer] Nick [O’Donnell] reckons I’m a vampire.”
The thing that stuns Borich the most about the new release is that whenever he started singing these songs, they felt like “Kevin Borich songs”. But with each collaborator on the album, Duets flourished. “Each guest's wonderfully strong artistic identity and ‘unique voice’ somehow instantly transformed each song into THEIR song,” Borich added.
Kevin Borich is currently on tour, giving fans a preview of what to expect from the album.
