A$AP Mob Founder A$AP Yams Dies At 26

One of the co-founders of hip hop collective A$AP Mob, A$AP Yams has died at the age of 26.

Yams, otherwise known as Steven Rodriguez, sudden passing yesterday circulated over social media today, with posts coming from a number of his A$AP Mob members, including arguably the most famous and successful of the collective, A$AP Rocky.

Rodriguez's death was also confirmed in statements released by A$AP Mob label's Polo Grounds Music and RCA, The Fader reported. A$AP Mob's official Facebook has since been updated with a tribute image.

"All of us at RCA Records are shocked and saddened to hear of the death of A$AP Yams. As one of the creative forces behind A$AP Worldwide, Yams' vision, humor and dedication to the members of A$AP Mob will always be remembered," RCA's statement read.

The wider hip hop community has also expressed their grief over Rodriguez's passing, with tributes flowing from including Future Music Festival artists Drake and 2Chainz.

Rodriguez formed the ensemble in 2007 along with A$AP Bari and A$AP Illz, with the collective becoming a groundbreaking force in hip hop over the last few years, with Rocky and A$AP Ferg in particular enjoying big success.

It has not yet been revealed what the cause of death was.
